All boys players (new and returning) should fill out this player profile form and follow this summer training tracker to be well-prepared for tryouts and the fall season.
Please also be sure to register for fall soccer in Aspen (see these instructions). If you are a new BLS student, you will be able to register once your Aspen record is transferred to BLS, which should happen by mid-August.
You must be registered for tryouts in advance. This is more than just paperwork; it allows coaches to plan for bibs, groupings, and staffing for Day 1. If you haven't registered yet, please do so as soon as possible.

Varsity Tryout Walkthrough: What To Expect Each Day
To help demystify the process, here is a breakdown of what each day of tryouts will look like.
Day 1: Monday, August 24 (4:00 to 7:00 PM - 30 min check in)
The first day is focused on initial assessments. Following check-in and warm-ups, players will complete a conditioning test and rotate through small-group stations. These drills allow coaches to evaluate passing, 1v1 skills, and decision-making. Day 1 will conclude with 7v7 games to observe these skills in a match setting.
Day 2: Tuesday, August 25 (5:00 to 7:00 PM)
There is no check-in for Day 2; please keep your bib from the previous day. Coaches will conduct a second fitness test to get a complete picture of your conditioning, followed by 7v7 games with reshuffled lineups to see how different players work together.
Day 3: Wednesday, August 26 (2:00 to 4:00 PM)
The final evaluation consists of a full 11v11 match with two 40-minute halves. By this stage, the group will be smaller, providing the coaching staff with a final look before setting the roster.
The final roster will include 18–22 players. If you are not selected for the team, a coach will speak with you directly before the results are posted.
A reminder as you prepare: coaches are looking for defense-first players who are aggressive, get stuck in, and are dangerous on the counter. Keep that in mind at every station.
Evaluation & Cut Process
Initial cuts will be made after Monday (Day 1). Further cuts will follow Tuesday (Day 2). The final team roster will be announced after Wednesday (Day 3). Day 1 and Day 2 cuts will be communicated by email. The final cut will be delivered in person.
Attendance on Monday is mandatory for anyone wishing to join the team, as evaluations begin immediately on Day 1.
